We hand-finish every enclosure, capped at 30 builds a month so the quality never slips. When the month fills, the next slot opens on the 1st.
Clear acrylic sliding doors,
built to arrive intact.
Acrylic is shatter-proof in shipping, where doors most often fail in transit, and on an 8 foot enclosure that protection matters most. Yours glide smoothly across the full front and give a clear view of the whole habitat. Front-opening access lets you work with a large, heavy-bodied snake safely from the side.
Light fixtures come ready to go
Every enclosure ships with a wired 36 inch UVB-ready fixture and two heat-lamp sockets installed. It works with standard bulbs; just add yours. Across 8 feet you can build a generous overhead basking gradient with a warm end and a true cool retreat, all on a thermostat, ready the day it lands.
Overhead basking and UVB: set up for proper husbandry from day one.The largest wooden reptile enclosure we build
The 8x2x2 is an 8 foot wide, 2 foot deep, 2 foot tall wooden reptile enclosure built from furniture-grade engineered wood with TFL (thermally fused laminate, the panel construction used in commercial furniture). It is the largest reptile enclosure in our line: a front-opening enclosure with clear acrylic sliding doors, wired lighting, and eight feet of ground-level floor. When a keeper searches for a large reptile enclosure or a large snake enclosure, this is the one we point them to.
Built for big snakes
A full-grown boa or a large python is a heavy-bodied animal that uses length. Eight feet gives an adult room to fully extend, patrol, and thermoregulate across a wide gradient. A ball python is comfortable in a large enclosure too, as long as you fill it with dense cover and clutter; extra floor space is never the problem, bare space is. For a ball python on the wood line, add a humid hide over moistened sphagnum moss for shed cycles, and if you want sustained high ambient humidity, our PVC enclosure is the better tool for the job. For big snakes, ample space plus heavy cover is exactly what they want, not a stressor.
The honest fit
This enclosure is 2 feet deep. For snakes, length matters far more than depth, so 8 feet of floor at 2 feet deep is a genuinely large habitat. It is still not the right tool for a savannah monitor or a tegu: those animals need roughly 4 feet of depth plus deep digging substrate. If a big monitor is your animal, the honest answer is that this is not the enclosure for it, and we would rather say so.

Common questions
What is the largest reptile enclosure Crawl Creations makes?
The 8x2x2 is the largest in our line: 8 feet wide, 2 feet deep, 2 feet tall. It is built for boas, large pythons, and the biggest snakes in the hobby that need real horizontal room.
Is the 8x2x2 big enough for a large boa?
Yes. Eight feet of floor gives a full-grown boa room to fully extend and thermoregulate across a wide warm-to-cool gradient. Pair it with dense cover and hides on both sides so a large snake feels secure across the whole footprint.
Can I keep a monitor or a tegu in the 8x2x2?
No. This enclosure is 2 feet deep, and monitors and tegus need roughly 4 feet of depth plus deep digging substrate. It is an excellent large-snake enclosure, but it is the wrong footprint for a big digging lizard.
Does it come with bulbs?
No. A wired 36 inch UVB-ready fixture and two heat-lamp sockets arrive installed and ready to go; just add the bulbs your species needs.
How does freight delivery work?
Shipping is free and liftgate service is always included. The carrier lowers the crate to the ground at your address, no loading dock needed. As our largest size, it is made to order and ships in about 2 to 4 weeks; add rush production above to ship sooner.
Can I house two animals in one enclosure?
We build for one animal per enclosure. Cohabitation stresses most reptiles and risks injury, so every size we sell is designed around a single animal thriving.
