Why PVC

Built to hold humidity.

PVC is moisture-resistant, so it holds the steady 60 to 70 percent humidity a ball python or boa needs without warping or wicking water like wood can. The sliding glass doors close the front and give a clear, full view of the habitat. This is the enclosure for the humid-species keeper our wood line is not built to serve.

About this enclosure

A 4x2x2 PVC reptile enclosure for humid species

The 4x2x2 PVC reptile enclosure measures 48 by 24 by 24 inches, roughly a 120 gallon footprint, with a moisture-resistant PVC body and front-opening sliding glass doors. It is built for the humid species the wood line steers away: ball pythons, boas, and other tropical snakes that need a setup which holds humidity day in and day out.

The right size for a ball python

A 4x2x2 is the correct adult footprint for a ball python. More floor space is never a problem when you fill it with dense cover and clutter, so a ball python feels secure end to end. Pair it with a humid hide and the PVC body does the rest, holding the ambient humidity ball pythons need through every shed.

What is included

A T5 UVB fixture, two heat bulbs, and a temperature and humidity gauge come in the box, so you can set your heat and track humidity from day one. Add the substrate, hides, and clutter your species needs and the habitat is ready.

Ships flat, simple assembly

This enclosure ships unassembled and flat-packed to protect it in transit. Assembly is straightforward and the glass doors slide into place once the body is together.

FAQ

Common questions

What size enclosure does a ball python need?

A 4x2x2 is the right adult size for a ball python, and this enclosure is built around that footprint. More space is fine, even good, as long as you fill it with dense cover and clutter so your snake feels secure. For a ball python, steady humidity matters more than raw size, which is exactly what this PVC enclosure is built to hold.

Does the PVC enclosure hold humidity better than wood?

Yes. PVC is moisture-resistant, so it holds steady ambient humidity far better than wood, which is why we point ball python, boa, and tropical keepers here instead of to the wood line. Pair it with a humid hide for shed cycles.

Is it PVC or glass?

It is a PVC enclosure with sliding glass doors. The moisture-resistant body is PVC; the front doors are glass and slide for easy access.

What is included?

A T5 UVB fixture, two heat bulbs, and a temperature and humidity gauge are included in the box. Add your substrate, hides, and the UVB and basking setup your species needs.

Does it ship assembled?

No. It ships unassembled and flat-packed to protect it in transit. Assembly is straightforward, and the glass doors slide into place once the body is together.

Can I house two animals in one enclosure?

We build for one animal per enclosure. Cohabitation stresses most reptiles and risks injury, so plan a single animal per setup.
